Challenges for LCD TV panel makers, but automotive innovations excite the market
For some display makers, 2023 will have ended in much the same way as it began. Weak demand in several consumer markets has caused shipments and revenues to decline and even led some manufacturers to call on their suppliers to make price cuts. The makers of liquid crystal display (LCD) TV panels are faced a particularly uncertain start to 2024. In this document, we will highlight some of the challenges they will have to overcome across 2024.
Panel makers in other areas will be more optimistic about the months ahead as new technologies and markets are emerging. In addition to outlining the struggles within the TV display segment, we will focus on two areas of potential growth – panoramic head-up displays in the automotive sector and the use of OLED screens in mobile PCs.
