"IoT Security & Public Policy"

The source for news and reference covering security, global policy and regulation in IoT.

Implementation of advanced IoT and edge technology in critical infrastructure, transportation, smart cities, energy distribution and industry is increasingly being driven by government and inter-governmental initiatives and funding. At the same time, concern about the security of IoT deployments has accelerated in recent years, thanks to increased hacking activity, general global unrest, the advent of new technology (AI, quantum computing), among other things. This new content channel from the IMC will provide news and reference about IoT in Public Policy in four general categories:

  • Regulation: Such as government-imposed requirements for handling data generated by connected devices or providing trusted network environments.
  • Security: Hacking or mis-use of IoT deployments and steps take for prevention, including standards/certifications that are often issued to document safety.
  • Initiatives: Major government initiatives involving IoT and smart technologies aimed at transforming national or regional economies.
  • Funding: Large-scale public projects that are likely to impact IoT technology deployment in major markets, such as public transport or healthcare.
