With real-time motion and built-in efficiency, ctrlX AUTOMATION gave JOA the tools to deliver on sustainability and speed.
When Curt JOA set out to build a Dry Molded Fiber Machine Platform that could help replace single-use plastics, they needed more than just automation, they needed innovation. Partnering with Bosch Rexroth, Curt JOA leveraged the ctrlX AUTOMATION portfolio to bring a revolutionary, energy-efficient machine to market in under six months.
Designed around the ctrlX CORE and ctrlX DRIVE platforms, the solution offers 28 synchronized axes, EtherCAT-based real-time communication, and a highly modular control environment. Its compact footprint reduces energy use and wiring, while built-in waste recycling keeps it aligned with sustainability goals.
At the heart of it all is ctrlX CORE, running a Linux-based OS and powered by app-based engineering. From ladder logic to high-end motion control, every piece of the machine was programmed using plug-and-play apps and thereby simplifying development, speeding integration, and enabling future upgrades with ease.
The result? A smarter, faster machine platform that meets strict regulatory demands, cuts production waste, and adapts to shifting consumer needs. All with the help of ctrlX AUTOMATION.
