The importance of content marketing as a core element of digital marketing remains indisputable. Companies in German-speaking countries invest €9.8 billion annually in content marketing. These investments have proven resilient over time and are projected to increase by approximately 5 percent annually in the coming years (CMF, 2022). Similarly, the Statista+ Content Marketing Trend Study anticipates stable or rising budgets for the next year (Statista, 2024a).

When it comes to media types, investments have increasingly shifted toward owned digital media and organic social channels. Currently, around two-thirds of budgets are allocated to digital content, compared to one-third for print – a reversal of the ratio seen a decade ago, according to the CMF baseline study.

This digital transformation is heavily supported by the use of artificial  intelligence. The AI revolution is accelerating two of the greatest challenges businesses face: freeing up time resources and enabling consistent content production. 

In the B2B sector, in particular, companies strive to publish more  frequently and consistently, yet time constraints often pose a significant obstacle – more so than financial or technical limitations. Generative AI significantly aids in streamlining content creation and related processes. Already, more than half of all companies consider AI tools to be highly important (Statista, 2024b). Using generative AI is becoming as routine as conducting a Google search.
