"The Cincinnati Region: Powering the Future for a Thriving Business Ecosystem"

Empowering Business Growth in the Cincinnati Region

Today, more than ever, the Cincinnati metropolitan area is a beacon of possibility and progress. The best-kept secret of this Midwestern region on the banks of the Ohio River is no longer hidden. The world is taking notice.

The Greater Cincinnati Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) defines a population from three states numbering at more than 2.25 million people. With the city of Cincinnati at its core, the MSA also counts northern Kentucky and three counties in southeast Indiana. Beyond population numbers, though, the MSA represents a booming business community, with economic growth driving expansion and improvements region wide. With seven Fortune 500 companies calling it home, Cincinnati is proving that hard work, ingenuity, and collaboration create unstoppable momentum. Our region is on the rise, boasting an exceptional economy, a thriving business community, and a culture that fuels creativity and innovation. In fact, last year alone, the Cincinnati region celebrated record-breaking project closures, job growth, and investments. The fourth quarter saw 22 projects come to fruition, nearly $831 million in capital investments, almost a quarter million new jobs, over $187 million in new payroll, and 59 business expansions and retainments.

This is just the beginning. The Cincinnati region is the place to be, with economic growth that knows no bounds, a cost of living that offers unparalleled value, and a cultural landscape that is as vibrant as it is diverse. Working, living, and playing in Cincinnati means embracing a city that offers everything — from global opportunities to local charm.

Take a look at BLINK, and you’ll see how big things are happening in the Queen City. What started as a local event has grown into the nation’s largest immersive arts festival, drawing millions from across the country and the world. Spanning 30 blocks across downtown Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky, BLINK is a breathtaking celebration of art and light that features nearly 100 interactive installations by international artists. The 2024 event surpassed all expectations, shattering attendance records and delivering a staggering $126 million in direct economic impact. With each passing year, BLINK not only brings the world to Cincinnati but also creates jobs, supports artists, and strengthens the community. In 2022, the event directly supported 1,687 jobs and generated $1.5 million in artist commissions and fees. This is just one example of how Cincinnati’s cultural scene is making waves on a global scale, alongside other signature events like Black Tech Week and Forbes Under 30, which further spotlight our region as a thriving business hub.

Site Selection Magazine recently recognized the Cincinnati region as one of the nation’s top economic performers, ranking the city #7 in total investment projects and #5 in total projects per capita in its 2024 Governor’s Cup. This recognition further solidifies our reputation as a strong player in the global business landscape, thanks to our consistent ability to attract corporate investment and new projects to the region.
