With 25 years of experience in the telecommunications and digital media markets, Michael Philpott is Omdia's leading analyst in the connected home area. As Research Director for service provider consumer, he delivers thought leadership to Omdia’s clients on digital home go-to-market strategy.

At Omdia, Michael produces reports, case studies, and forecasts in the areas of smart home, smart Wi-Fi and connected home, and broadband access strategy. He joined Omdia (formerly Ovum) in 2000 as a consultant in the networks and Infrastructure team, before moving to the analyst side of the business establishing and leading Ovum’s broadband, telco media, and smart home analyst services.

Dr. Marcus Brunner, WBBA Working Group Chair, Chief Expert for Enhanced Broadband, Huawei Technologies Switzerland
Dr. Marcus Brunner is Huawei’s chief expert for enhanced Broadband. He is currently involved in ETSI ISG F5G, a programme to define the fifth generation end-to-end fixed network with the vision to deploy fibre to everywhere. He is also chairing in the WBBA generational roadmap activities. He has 100+ publications and patents granted and is a long term contributor to various activities in the telecommunication industry including self-management, QoS, MPLS-TP, SDN, multiple generations of mobile networks (3G, 4G, 5G), and was a driver towards cloud-native operators based on ETSI NFV.

Gavin Young, Head of Fixed Access Centre of Excellence, Vodafone
Gavin is responsible within Vodafone Group for the fixed broadband access technology strategy, architecture, vendor roadmaps and standards across the various countries where Vodafone has fixed access assets. This encompasses fibre, cable and DSL access technologies together with the associated fixed-mobile convergence, virtualisation and network performance optimisation technologies.

Prior to Vodafone, Gavin was Head of Strategy & Planning for Cable & Wireless, CTO at Bulldog and Head of Fixed Access Architecture & Design at BT.

Gavin was a founding Director of the Broadband Forum where he was overall Technical Chairman for twelve years. Gavin is Chairman of the UK regulator (Ofcom) Spectrum Advisory Board (OSAB), serves on the Broadband Forum’s executive advisory board and is active in several CableLabs initiatives.  Gavin is a member of the IEEE, Fellow of the IET and Distinguished Fellow of the Broadband Forum.

Mohamed Amine Benziane, Vice-Chairman, Algérie Télécom
Mohamed Amine Benziane is the vice-chairman of ITU-T Study Group 15 that deals with Networks, technologies and infrastructures for Transport, access and home, he also served as ITU-D vice-rapporteur for the 2017 – 2021 cycle, where he dealt with aspects of broadband deployment strategies and policies in developing countries.

Mohamed has represented Algeria in various ITU major conferences and meetings, such as, the World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly(WTSA), the World Telecommunication Development Conferences (WTDC), ITU Council (ITU governing body) and the ITU Plenipotentiary conferences (ITU higher decision making body), where he was Vice-Chairman of the steering committee of the 2022 ITU Plenipotentiary Conference (PP-22).

He also served as African Telecommunication Union (ATU) consultant for the 2022 ITU Plenipotentiary Conference (PP-22) preparatory process for the African region, where he was in charge of defining the region’s strategy and approach to the conference.

He is currently Head of Technology Watch Unit at Algérie Télécom, overseeing SDOs technical standards, including ITU, and has more than 10 years’ experience in telecommunications engineering.

Mohamed Amine Benziane is a State Engineer in electronics and he holds an MBA.
